Correspondence, advertisements, articles and clippings, promotional and supplementary materials concerning propaganda against pasteurization, cleaning fluids, an acne "cure," a quack, and clinical ecology. Records include: A.J. Clausen, a writer claiming to be an M.D. and Ph. D. and propagandizing against pasteurization in a socialist newspaper, 1912; Cleaning Fluids, material on hazardous materials used in cleaning fluids, 1934-1941; Clear-Tone, a cosmetic to "cure" acne, 1921-1941; H.P. Clearwater, a quack who specialized in mail-order patent medicines to "cure" rheumatism, heart disease, kidney and bladder ailments, constipation and other ailments, 1908-1944; and Clinical Ecology (file concerns Alan Mandell Center for Bio-Ecologic Diseases, a clinic treating food, chemical, and environmental allergies and their effects, 1973). Clearwater sometimes operated under the names "Associated Specialists," "Heart Cure Company," and "Pope Laboratories."
